One year after the death of Sidney Prescott's (Campbell) mother, two students turn up gutted. When a serial killer appears, Sidney begins to suspect whether her mother's death and the two new deaths are related. No one is safe, as the killer begins to pick everyone off one by one. Everyone's a suspect in this case.
It has been two years since the tragic events at Woodsboro. Sidney Prescott and Randy Meeks are trying to get on with their lives, and are currently both students at Windsor College. Cotton Weary is out of prison, and is trying to cash in on his unfortunate incarceration. Gale Weathers has written a bestseller, "The Woodsboro Murders," which has been turned into the film, "Stab," starring Tori Spelling as Sidney. As the film's play date approaches, the cycle of death begins anew. Dewey Riley immediately flies out of Woodsboro to try to protect Sidney, his "surrogate sister." But in this sequel to the 1996 horror film, the number of suspects only goes down as the body count slowly goes up!
A new film is currently in production, and a killer is on the loose. The murders draw a reporter, ex-cop, and young woman to the set of the movie inspired by their life. They soon find out that they are dealing with a trilogy, and in a trilogy...anything can happen.
Sepuluh tahun sudah lewat dan Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) merasa bahwa ia sudah terbebas dari mimpi buruk yang ia alami sebelumnya. Ternyata, mimpi buruk itu masih mengikuti Sidney. Dan saat mimpi buruk itu kembali, tak ada pilihan buat Sidney selain menghadapinya. Sebenarnya mimpi buruk bertopeng ini sudah menghantui Sidney sejak lebih dari sepuluh tahun yang lalu. Bukan sekedar mimpi buruk karena ada nyawa yang hilang karena mimpi menakutkan ini. Seorang pembunuh bertopeng seolah tak mau melepaskan para remaja SMA ini. Mimpi buruk ini juga tak berhenti sampai di sana karena bertahun setelahnya pun pembunuh bertopeng ini tetap berkeliaran.
Kini pembunuh bertopeng itu kembali muncul menghantui Sidney dan kawan-kawannya. Sidney yang semula mengira hidupnya sudah aman pun mau tak mau harus turun tangan menghadapi pembunuh bertopeng ini. Siapakah sebenarnya pembunuh bertopeng ini? Tak ada yang benar-benar tahu karena seolah pembunuh ini selalu bisa kembali memburu para korbannya.
